hey, I'm in a band and I wear a lot of black eye make-up on stage so I'm constantly searching for something that is really sweat-proof and lasts.
I really think Mac packs the best bang for the buck. If you want liner that really lasts, try their gel liner. That stuff never comes off. Just make sure you get them to teach you to apply it. It can be tricky at first but once you get it, you get it and it looks phenomenal.
If you want a different look, learn to apply powder as liner with a thin, angled brush. (You sort of dot and wiggle to form a line instead of sweeping it on.) This can create a long-lasting look and it doesn't look quite as heavy as the gels. I've used Trish McEvoy powder and brush for this before. Expensive but it lasts forever.
For budget cosmetics, I like Max Factor. Make up artists do actually use their stuff and when they say it lasts, it lasts. (Warning: I've tried Revlon Color Stay Liner and it was a biiiig disappointment.)
You might also consider looking into Ben Nye cosmetics. His stuff is the favored brand for film, tv, and special effects. It is surprisingly affordable and the quality is VERY high. You might try the CinemaSecrets.com web site. The people at their store are really helpful so drop them a line.
In general, if you really want make-up to stay, no matter what promises the cosmetics companies make, you need to use a fixative. This comes as a spray or as a liquid that you mix with whatever powder you use (Ben Nye again). WARNING: If you mix a fixative with a powder make sure you do it in a separate container. Otherwise, if you mix it in the powder's original compact or container, the fixative soaks through and hardens the powder. Basically makes it worthless. I learned that the hard way.
Oh, and I think Mac is worth the money but I would definitely not waste money on Dior or any of the super high-end brands. Pencil is the easiest to apply but it is also the fastest to fade-- no matter how much you pay for it.Which black eyeshadow is the best to use that is going to last and that doesnt cost a lot of money?
The best makeup products are always the most expesive ones.. try any product from mac, sephoras etc and compare it with a maybelline youll see the difference. my advise is to splurge a little bit on it, they might be expensier but they ll give you better results..
use MAC black eyeshadow and Diors black pencil eyeliner
there is Prestige liquid eyeliner that they sell at walgreens and it shouldnt be more than $10. it lasts all day!!!
The best black powder shadow which can also be used wet as eyeliner (2 in one) is by JANE, called eye zing in ';Clubbing'; Makes your eyes look mysterious...very sexy
I use NYC i bought it in Walmart for 1.99. Get the glittery smoke eyeshadow i use it allot and it last longer if you put foundation before putting it on......
also if you but on the eyeshadow wet, like get the brush applicatior wet then put it on, it should make it bolder and stay longer
target, they have their own line called e.l.f a buck each, lip stuff, eyeliner , eyeshadow, concealer the whole shabang lasts really long for me and the foundation is really light, cant feel it!
good luck!
vote me! mines the cheapest! :^)
Storm eyeshadow ($6.50) and Charcoal eyeliner ($9.50) by Mary Kay
i say from Mac (midnight black ) it cost $12.00 for a eyeshadow but is going to last. Its a good buy
MAC definatly
Its like 13.50 for one and they usually last long like the quanity of the product and like i went swimming one time wearing my eyeshadow and it stayed on and thats it
xo.muah
I dont use black eyeshadow, instead i use a really deep blue eyeshadow from mac for my eye lids for the smokey effect and also for my eyeliner with the eyeliner brush. It brings out your eyes more, and looks better than black eyeshadow especially if you have a darker complexion like me.
mabillene great lash is cheap and it works well.
